Overview:
Retro Manager is a fast-paced and arcade-style football management game set in the 1990s. As the manager of any team you choose, you have the power to reshape football history by preventing early retirements, promoting new youth talents, and making strategic signings. The game aims to offer a unique and visually engaging experience, departing from the complexity of traditional football management games such as 'Football Manager'.
Brief:
The goal was to depart from the complexity of Football Manager and explore innovative, visually striking designs, taking heavy inspiration from a retro 8-bit art style. The squad page, a focal point, showcases the starting eleven and substitutes on the left, with room for 18 reserve players on the right. The client encourages me to freely experiment with styles, even exploring unconventional designs. The primary focus was to craft a visually appealing and distinctive UI that aligns with the game's retro and arcade theme. Additionally, considerations for menu and button designs, featuring elements like squad, club, leagues, formation, tactics, training, and youth academy, were essential for the overall game interface.
